In 1994 the mill was asked to weave a tartan
for the new film staring Mel Gibson about the life and death of Scotland's
greatest hero William Wallace - The Film Braveheart.
The colours available in Wallace and Bruce's time were extracted from
the natural products available, such as berries, lichen, gorse and peat.
This Tartan has been woven in the traditional manner on the island of
Islay, in the Western Isles |
